Tower Hamlets Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (RE) would like to invite children and young people from all school phases to join the local Spirited Arts Competition.

We welcome entries of art (drawing, painting or sketching etc) from all Tower Hamlets pupils.

Pupils can enter individually or as a group. The competition starts on Monday, 20th February and closes on Friday, 26th June 2023 (Half term)

There are 6 different themes to choose from:

  • "We have far more in common with each other than divides us"
  • Green faith, green future? God's good earth
  • Where is God today?
  • Faith in action, Values in action
  • Sacred Space and Holy Buildings
  • All God's Creatures?

Further information about these themes can be found on the right of this page titled details of themes. Pupils should write briefly about their artwork. Some suggested prompts for this are provided below, but free writing is encouraged. A single A4 sheet of 400 words is the maximum size for the pupil’s commentaries.

There will be prizes for a runner up and winner in each age group. The prize winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from SACRE. A display of the best artwork will be displayed on the SACRE section of the THIFF website and on other social media platforms.

This project will allow you to enter the local Tower Hamlets Spirited Arts Competition. We would encourage you to enter your best 10 pieces of work in the NATRE National “Spirited Arts Competition”.
