Tower Hamlets Council, in accordance with The School Organisation (Establishment and Discontinuance of Schools) Regulations 2013 and the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations (2013) is seeking the views of interested parties including parents and community groups on a statutory proposal.
The Proposal
The Local Authority, in partnership with the Governing Bodies of Rachel Keeling Nursery School and Globe Primary Schools, is intending for the two schools to amalgamate and become one primary school from 1 September 2025, admitting pupils from 3 to 11 years of age.
Globe Primary School will expand to accommodate up to 120 pupils in the nursery class of the primary school from 1 September 2025. The Rachel Keeling Nursery site will be maintained for Globe Nursery School children to attend.
All children attending Rachel Keeling Nursery School will transfer to Globe Primary School from 1 September 2025. Children currently attending Globe Primary School will continue in the newly amalgamated school.
All nursery age children from Rachel Keeling Nursery School and Globe Primary School will be educated at the Rachel Keeling site.
Interested parties are asked to confirm whether they support the proposed change with reasons why. Statutory proposal documents are available for this consultation.
