2nd Consultation event on Proposed Development at Montefiore Centre E1 5HZ.

What is the Montiefiore Centre Project?

We are proposing an exciting new development for The Montefiore Centre, consisting of much needed affordable homes and refurbishment works to the existing building. The scheme will provide improvements to the building’s overall appearance and immediate surroundings, and will include environmental upgrades.

Have your say, and get involved!

We will be hosting two drop-in sessions where you can speak to the project team and the architects directly regarding this development. The details of these sessions are provided below.

Consultation Event 1

Date: Wednesday 15th May 2024

Time: 4pm - 7pm

Location: Montefiore Centre, Hanbury Street London E1 5HZ


Consultation Event 2

Date: Saturday 18th May 2022

Time: 10am –

Location: Montefiore Centre, Hanbury Street London E1 5HZ

At the consultation residents will be shown plans of the proposed development and will be able to discuss and comment on the proposed improvements to the surrounding area.

Following the conclusion of the drop-in sessions, the plans will be made available on the Council’s website for you to access.

The consultation period for all resident feedback will end on 31st May 2024.

    Why do we need to build?

    The Council has more than 24,000 households on its housing register, with many residents in acute housing need. We have our own house building programme and together with partners we are committed to building 4,000 social homes for rent, with a focus on 3-to-4-bedroom family homes, in line with the Mayor’s strategic priorities. This project will be delivered by the Council and is one of several Council owned sites that have been identified for regeneration and infill development.

    What is our timeline for community consultation and feedback?

    We look forward to hearing your feedback and any questions that you may have about the proposed development. Following the first round of consultation events submission for feedback will close on Wednesday 31st January 2024.
