Wapping High Street

Liveable Streets is a multi-million-pound borough-wide street and public space improvement programme. It aims to improve the look and feel of public spaces in neighbourhoods across the borough and make it easier, safer, and more convenient to get around by foot, bike and public transport.

We have now finished early engagement activities, co-design workshops and consultation of the Liveable Streets Wapping project. So far, we have listened to Wapping residents and heard your concerns on issues including through-traffic, dangerous driving, anti-social behaviour, and pollution.

Construction phase

The programme is now moving into the construction phase for the Wapping area, which will commence from Monday 12 October 2020. We will update each neighbourhood on the specific works taking place on the roads around them, or you can check this webpage for updates below on the latest construction updates.

Construction Updates

The first stage of works for the Wapping area are scheduled for Vaughan Way and Kennet Street on Monday 12 October 2020. These works will be for the widening of the pavement and changes to kerb lines to improve the pedestrian area.
