Inclusive Design Tower Hamlets

Inclusive design

In January 2023 we recorded street interviews with women across the borough.

This survey builds on what we learned from women and girls across Tower Hamlets and is just one part of an evidence gathering exercise to understand and improve on our experience. We know that all gender identities, including men and boys, deserve to feel safer on our streets and public spaces. Research from the World Health Organisation shows that if you improve the experience of women and girls, places feel safer for everyone.

We are running a number of research strands for this project, which we will draw together to inform design guidance and shape future developments in the borough. We will also work with partners across the council and beyond to help embed what we learn and ensure coherent multi-team approach to implementing inclusive design.

The survey is in five sections. Please skip any sections that don't apply to you.

If you would like to take part in other workshops associated with our research or you would like us to deliver a workshop for a group you are involved in you can let us know at the end of the survey.
