What’s happening on Wick Lane?
Tower Hamlets Council is contacting local businesses regarding proposed improvements along Wick Lane to provide better access for walking and cycling and improve the street scene for residents of the area.
This proposal follows on from studies undertaken in 2020 to understand how the area, shown on the map below, is used and how it can be improved to reduce the amount of through traffic and use by heavy goods vehicles, whilst maintaining amenity for local residents and businesses.
Map indicating the location of the proposed HGV restriction on Wansbeck Road
As part of our proposals, we are planning to introduce an HGV restriction (7.5T) on Wansbeck Road just north of Monier Road. This restriction would be camera enforced and aims to reduce heavy vehicle volumes near residential properties to improve safety for walking and cycling.
We would like to hear from you about the possible impacts this closure may have on your business and deliveries, in order to devise a solution that works for all parties.

Your views are important to us. We want to hear from all businesses in the local area to understand your views on the proposed changes.
Please sign up or register below to have your say on the Wick Lane Corridor proposals by 5pm on 6 May 2022.
