St George’s Leisure Centre redevelopment

London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council has now appointed Guildmore Ltd to carry out the construction programme for the new St George’s Leisure Centre in Shadwell. The redevelopment of the site and the planned demolition and enabling works is due to begin from Monday 26th October 2026, starting with site set up.

We’re holding a “meet the contractor” session on Thursday 10th September, from 3pm to 8pm, at St George-in-the-East, The Old Chapel, 14 Cannon Street Road, E1 0BH.

Come and see the plans for managing the construction, from details of working hours and delivery vehicle routes to demolition timescales and hoarding programme. This will also be a chance to chat about how the new leisure centre and public spaces will look.
