Residents have expressed concerns regarding driver behaviour and vehicle speeds on Manchester Road. Recent surveys have reinforced this, showing that many drivers do not obey the speed limit. We are now seeking your views on a new proposal.
The scheme includes a variety of changes aimed at reducing vehicle speed and improving pedestrian safety. These measures involve the installation of new islands and signage, the creation of Copenhagen crossings, and the extension of footways. Additionally, adjustments to parking bays, including removals and additions, new trees will be planted where appropriate, and new roundels along the route. The scheme is summarised below:
