Augusta Street
Help Shape the Future of Augusta Street
“We are committed to delivering the affordable homes local people need. These proposals for Augusta Street will create new social rent homes and community facilities while making better use of an underused site.”
Lutfur Rahman, Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets
Mayor's Priority Project
These proposals are being brought forward as part of the Mayor of Tower Hamlets Priority Programme, helping deliver new council homes and community facilities across the borough.
The proposals are at an early stage, and we want to hear from you before plans are finalised.

New Social Rent Homes at Augusta Street
Tower Hamlets Council is developing proposals for around 100 new social rent homes at Augusta Street, adjacent to Bartlett Park.
Our proposals are at an early stage, and we want your feedback before we finalise the plans.
The site is currently closed to the public and is mainly used for park storage. It was previously used as a playground and a games court. Our proposals would bring this underused site back into use by providing:
- Around 100 new social rent homes
- A high proportion of family-sized homes
- New public open space
- A children's play area
- A community hub
These proposals aim to help meet local housing needs while improving facilities for the community.
