Arnold Road - Consultation for making trial restrictions permanant
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedinEmail this link
Last year a trial closure of the junction of Arnold Road and Campbell Road was implemented following on from requests and a consultation for local residents, which demonstrated overall support for the scheme. Residents feedback from those living in the vicinity noted that the closure has led to a significant reduction in traffic and dangerous turning and driving on Tomlin’s Grove and Arnold Road. Despite some adjustments for local residents to the new traffic patterns, there are now very few issues of drivers passing through the area who are not aware of the closure.
Given the scheme has now been in place for a year, we feel this is a good point to review the existing scheme and to determine whether to make the traffic order restrictions that regulate the scheme permanent, as well as carry out any permanent works on the junction to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
As a part of this process, we welcome your views on whether to proceed with making these trial restrictions permeant. Following this decision, further engagement with local residents will follow on the detailed design of the permanent closure to ensure it feeds the needs of those that use the area.
